TRIBAL WINDS Discipleship Training School, Feb 1- June 18, 2010
THE TRIBAL WINDS DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING SCHOOL has a "frontier missions" emphasis on NATIVE NORTH AMERICA.
Our Discipleship Training School has the same standard as any YWAM-DTS curriculum but what separates us is our focus on reaching the Natives of N. America and the Pacific Rim and our training among the oldest tribe in N. America, the Hopis. This training consists of a 12 week lecture phase and an eight week outreach phase.
Outreaches have focused on native peoples such as Tewas, Navajos, Apaches, Pueblos, Islanders, Filipino tribes and Aborigines. Outreaches may change as God directs us, but will stay within the Pacific Rim.

Some General Information
The cost of this Tribal Winds DTS is $4300, which includes the Lecture Phase: (first 12 weeks) and the Outreach Phase (8 weeks beyond the Lecture Phase). It also includes: housing, student food program*, ground transportation, speakers and honorariums. It does NOT include your transportation to and from the DTS. *The Student Food Program consists of a cooperative food program for purchasing and preparing food.
BR> Your school cost does not cover any YWAM salaries (all YWAMers are volunteers and supported monthly by family, friends, and home churches). The cost for the DTS may be less for "two thirds" World economies, including Native America, depending on the situation. When asked about the academic nature of our DTS, actually we are more of a Gathering of Disciples: living/working in community, meeting, studying and sharing time together. This DTS is a 12 week teaching with an 8 week hands on experience, learning from some of the key leaders in the field of contextual indigenous Christian Ministry. Additional Outreach Information
The TRIBAL WINDS Outreach Phase has normally been conducted at Native American reservations in the US. This is something we pray about during the Lecture Phase and then under staff guidance make a decision about for the final eight weeks. The school fees cover outreach within the US, however, if we are led beyond US borders we will need to each raise additional funds. This is not an unusual YWAM DTS scenario.
Also, we can often offer OUTDOOR ADVENTURE opportunities such as rock climbing and river rafting. These activities are done on a private trip basis, so all participants must share the costs equally. Usually the costs are minimal, such as $15 per day.
